DIY Pokemon Go Trainer Bag Gift
Ever since Pokemon Go  came out this summer, my boys are obsessed. (Especially my 6 year old.) So when it came time to plan out Christmas gifts, I knew a pokemon gift would be high on the list!

My son has often commented on how cool it is the the TNT (Awanas) bag looks just like a pokemon trainer bag, and how he couldn’t wait to be a TNT so he could get a bag like them. That was the beginning of my brainstorming for this gift.

Here’ how to make your own Trainer Bag.

Start with a cross body bag in red, blue, or yellow

Then you have to choose some pokemon goodies to go inside. Here are some great ideas from Amazon:

Every Pokemon Trainer needs some poke balls! Gotta catch ’em all!

Don’t see a link for poke balls here? You will need to enable ads for my site! But don’t worry, I only use Amazon ads so you won’t be bombarded with all kinds of Google Ads.

And of course some pokemon figures. You can try your luck with generic brand and save a bundle, or get the real thing, but you’ll definitely feel the price difference.

Next add some Pokemon Cards . . .

. . . and some Pokemon Books to add some educational value. My 6 year old is going to to love the book about drawing Pokemon!

We’re also getting a binder with card holders to go with this, even though it may not fit in the bag. My boys have a few pokemon cards from McDonald’s that are all but destroyed, so I want to make sure the one’s we get for Christmas have a safe place to go.

If you know how to crochet, Nicole’s Nerdy Knots (on Ravelry) has some super cute free amigurium patterns! I’ve already made an egg sack, and now I just have to pick which pokemon I think I could actually make to put inside. Teehee. I’ve never done amigurium before. I’ll be sure to update you all on Facebook of my success or failure.

Don’t forget the egg incubators! If you don’t know how to crochet, you could use large easter eggs.

And there you have it! I’m going to definitely have to narrow down my selections or I’m going to get a “your bag is full” notification! Image may be NSFW.
