Do you have a little Thunder Fan in your home? My friend Ada just sent me a message about an awesome new program that Devon is putting on! It’s called the Devon Thunder Explorers, and focuses on the Math and Science aspects of basketball!
You can sign up for FREE, and you’ll get a monthly email of activities and experiments to do with your child/student. Answering questions like, “What’s the science behind Rumble’s high flying dunks?” “How does technology help Thunder players improve their game?” and “What engineering feats were needed to to make the domed roof of the Chesapeake Energy Arena?”
You can upgrade and become a member for $25, and they will mail you a membership kit full Thunder Swag, including a Rumble the Bison Bobblehead, and a backpack full of supplies. But the program itself is totally FREE.
I’m looking forward to doing this program with my Kindergartner who loves basketball AND all things STEM!
What a great activity for Homeschoolers, Afterschoolers, as well as classroom teachers! I LOVE learning opportunities that correlate around my children’s interests! Teaching kids that learning is fun and interesting is a great way to create life-long learners. That is why I’ve been working so hard on my School For Boys Series!
Check out all of my School For Boys round-ups for FREE resources and great ideas for “boy-interest” based learning! I’ve only just begun, so be sure to check back for more round ups! If there’s a topic of special interest to your son, leave me a comment and let me know and I’ll add it to my list of round ups to create!
